Over-complicated instructions for ifuse
Talk status
This discussion is done as of 2022-02-22.
I just tried mounting an iPhone X on my system, all that was required was emerging usbmuxd, libimobiledevice, and ifuse. I was able to successfully mount the device as a non-root user without being part of the plugdev
group, no need to change the permissions on fusermount
either. Are these instructions out of date? If there are no objections, I will be making a few edits to remove these steps. Perhaps moving them to the troubleshooting section? thoughts? Pudding (talk) 22:44, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- Things could very well have changed since the article was written, instructions often do not follow changes, if nobody notices... Of course any changes to reflect the actual state of affairs would be most welcome ! Thanks for the comment, even this may help some people looking as to why their system does not mesh with the article.
