Something should be done for big package like ffmpeg... there are way too many ARCH specific flags than X86, so a specific ARM, MIPS and PPC should be added then along with cpu_flags_x86.desc. Or else, use a single cpu_flags.desc instead... I've finished writing a patch for JACK and FFMPEG, but... this idea was in favor of removing too many local CPU specific flags right? So, the common well known ARCH should have a specific file to avoid... requiring the maintainers to... write down yet another (local) ARCH specific CPU flags. - Yes, x86 is just the first step. When we handle all of that, we're going to work on extending that to other arches as time permits. Could you submit your patches somewhere? Either directly to me or open bugs for them. Michał Górny (talk) 18:43, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
