Can we omit the "exec" command when launching a WM ?
Talk status
This discussion is still ongoing.
I've read that not using the "exec" command when launching a window manager can lead to a security issue, because it means that terminating the WM, even when the screen is "locked", can drop to a shell. So my question is if it's OK to omit the exec line, as in the current instructions in point 2. D-Bus#The_session_bus
This is probably the place I saw this I3#Starting_i3.
