Hi, I am an engineer into electronics and electrotechnic with specialisations into analog electronics and DSP (Digital Signal Processor), but as a musician with various backgrounds, I am more focused into analog electronic. See the Black Star Theremin for the documentation of a vacuum tubes theremin I made from an old radio.
When seeing Microcap, an analog electronic software, I get my first computer, an 8088 running DOS. As an old GNU/linux user. I begun with linux on a 286, it was a hell to get the system to start because it was necessary to recompile the kernel, which took me about 10 days. And I gave up because when trying to start X, the only result was complete system crashes. After that, I get a 386 and started to make double boot between Suse and DOS, later windows. I also managed to get linux running on an Amiga 2000, an easy install but the Amiga OS was so much better at that time that it ended up as a one day try. As soon I managed to do everything wanted on GNU/linux, I removed all the microsoft software from my computers.
My every day distributions have been Suse, gentoo, debian and back to gentoo. I also used some of the first audio pro distributions like Agnula and Demundi, and begun to compile and run my own rt kernels on Suse and later the other mentioned distributions. I also contribute to other open source projects like alsaplayer and fvwm-crystal.
I am thinking to use that page mainly to have backups of content of pages in need of extensive changes, at least during the time of making these changes, or for even more time, that for any reason I can find appropriate.
Ciao, Dominique
