As of version 2.3.1, vde now ships with systemd unit files. This article describes the use of this service files.

Files

These are the files shipped with the vde package:

• /usr/lib/systemd/system/vde@.service: Unit file that starts vde_switch.
• /etc/systemd/system/vde@.service.d/00gentoo.conf: Configuration for above vde@.service.
• /usr/lib/systemd/system/vde-tap-config@.service: Unit file used to configure the TAP interface created by vde_switch.
• /etc/systemd/system/vde-tap-config@.service.d/00gentoo.conf: Configuration for above vde-tap-config@.service.
