--oneshot
Hola, Mimosinnet. (Sorry, I don't speak Català.) It's about your question in Talk:Perl.
I strongly recommend you as a Gentoo user to understand the meaning of "--oneshot"; it's indispensable to live in Gentoo. That flag asks emerge "don't add these packages I specified in the command line to the 'world' set." It's often used to rebuild/upgrade packagaes, because they're only pulled in only as dependencies. (BTW could you please check the manual before asking?)
The way you cited is not "official" at all. It belongs to Wild ways, but is of worse quality, less likely to work than those in the Wiki page. (At least, it wouldn't have worked for my upgrading to 2.24.) --Teika (talk) 00:39, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback! Sometimes, in the binhost the Wild ways are the only way of solving dependencies. Cheers! --Mimosinnet 18:12, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
Welcome!
Hello Joan (Mimosinnet) ,
Welcome to the Gentoo wiki! Glad to see you introducing yourself. We appreciate your efforts to help around here. It's my vision for the Gentoo wiki to become the best Linux-related technical wiki on the web (we have Gentoo, so this reality can be achieved)! Anyway, nice to meet ya. If you need anything I hang out in #gentoo-wiki (webchat) on Freenode IRC. Happy improvements! Kind regards, --Maffblaster (talk) 18:56, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
