Wrt the revert, if that is the case, then NTP is the wrong tool for the job. Your script is likely to just fail as well and:

1. Not tell you it worked or failed
2. Really confuse ntpd if the difference is large. It can really choke.

Consider chrony instead when network connectivity is spotty or heavily delayed as it can detect offline conditions and can be told to go offline/online as well. --Grknight (talk) 04:49, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
