Layout of configuration section

ZNC can be configured in three ways:

  • Through a web interface
  • Via IRC commands
  • Via the XML configuration file (discouraged by the ZNC docs; we probably shouldn't cover this)

There are three ways of arranging these:

  • A different section dedicated to each
    • Useful for readers who only care about one method (probably everyone?)
  • A different subpage dedicated to each
    • Keeps the main article tidy (the web interface configuration will have lots of screenshots)
    • An extra hoop for readers to jump through
    • Not conventional
  • One section ("Configuration"), but each option is explained for all methods
    • I can't think of any advantages this provides

Any suggestions?

Caveats that should be covered

  • No intuitive way to exclude channels from being buffered or to list query buffers.
  • Web UI is at the IRC port, which browsers block by default. A hard-to-remember key in about:config needs to be changed.
  • Like most clients, it has issues connecting to irc.gentoo.org over TLS, since irc.gentoo.org redirects to a random libera server (each of which has a different cert). I got around this by always connecting to lithium.libera.chat, but I don't know if it's the closest server.
